Niecy Nash Starring in New TNT Dramedy

Niecy Nash will star in the new TNT  series, Claws. The hour- long dramedy is about the ups and downs of the work and personal lives of five manicurists at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County Salon located in South Florida.

Nash will star as Desna, the salon’s owner who lives with and cares for her mentally ill twin brother, Dean (Harold Perrineau). The cast also includes Carrie Preston (Polly), a mild-mannered, prep who recently served time in jail for identity theft. Judy Reyes (Ann) Desna’s driver who also provides security for the shop. Jenn Lyon (Jennifer), Desna’s best friend and now sober, ex-party girl raising two kids from previous relationships and Karrueche Tran (Virginia) a bored manicurists that does not hide her impatience with her job. Kevin Rankin (Bryce) plays Jennifer’s newly sober husband who is trying to stay legit and works as an abundance coach. Jason Antoon (Dr. Ken Brickman) is a legal doctor with an illegal drug clinic, and Jack Kesy (Roller) is a hardcore redneck with an illegal pain clinic who uses the nail salon to launder his profits.

The show was created by Rashida Jones and her creative partner Will McCormack and Janine Sherman Barrois, who will serve as the showrunner.

Sarah Aubrey, the executive vice president of original programming for TNT said this about the show:

“Claws is wild and hilarious, and we can’t wait for viewers to immerse themselves in this fascinating world…This is a show with great storytelling featuring empowered female characters and brought to life by a diverse group of incredibly talented individuals both in front of and behind the camera.”

The first season will debut 10-episodes in 2017.
