Nicki Minaj Goes in on the VMAs + Suggests that Black Entertainers are Not Treated Fairly in the Music Industry

Yesterday Twitter had us like: 😳😳😳😳

It started with Nicki Minaj expressing her confusion with MTV because “Feeling Myself,” a track featuring Beyoncé from her hit album, “The Pinkprint” was not nominated for a VMA:

Minaj then begins to address how she feels her mega hit single “Anaconda” was slighted by not being nominated for video of the year or choreography of the year:

Taylor Swift caught wind of Nicki’s tweets and decided to respond, though Minaj never mentioned Taylor in any of her tweets.

Minaj responds to Swift:

As if things couldn’t get more tense, Ryan Seacrest (or Ryan Seacrest’s staff) posted a since deleted article that suggests that Minaj took jabs at Taylor and that Taylor is being attacked by Minaj. If you have been following the tweets then you can see why  this only gives Minaj more ammo to make her point:

We’re gonna end this article off saying that we definitely see what Nicki is saying when it comes to the industry and Blacks in the industry. We like Taylor Swift and numerous other non-black entertainers in the industry and we support them as well. However, we’d be lying if we said that at times there are not differences and the frustrations that Minaj expressed are valid.

All we know is this is not over cause Nicki let us know that she will on the VMA stage accepting her awards 😊 Oh we will be watching the VMAs on August 30th at 9 PM SHARP!
